STORY

As a child in India, I didn’t just dream—I imagined, designed, and created. My world was a kaleidoscope of vibrant saris, bustling bazaars, and the soulful tunes of the ’90s. But life in those days came with a blueprint, one with only two career paths: engineering or medicine. I chose engineering, not because it called to me, but because it seemed like the “right” thing to do.

Yet, between formulas and lectures, I found myself drawn to something entirely different. Clothes, to me, weren’t just fabric stitched together—they were stories waiting to be told. I began experimenting with my outfits, crafting looks that felt like extensions of my identity. Friends noticed. “Can you help me with my outfit?” they’d ask. Each time I saw someone light up in something I styled for them, I felt an indescribable sense of purpose.

This spark followed me when I pursued my MBA in Entrepreneurship Management and International Business in England. Walking through cobblestone streets and soaking in the entrepreneurial energy, I started to believe that maybe, just maybe, I could turn my passion into something tangible. It was in England that I learned to dream bigger, to see my ideas not just as fleeting thoughts but as plans waiting to take shape.

Then came the United States, the land of opportunity. I stepped into the corporate world, climbing ladders, traveling extensively, and learning how businesses worked from the inside out. But somewhere, in the chaos of deadlines and flights, that old pull—the one toward creativity—began to stir again.

And then, one day, mid-air above the clouds, it all clicked. The name, the purpose, the dream: IWOWD- I Walk Out Well Dressed. IWOWD wasn’t just about looking good—it was about feeling extraordinary. It was about creating the “I-WOW-eD” factor for women everywhere. That plane ride didn’t just give me a name—it gave me direction.

What started as a side hustle soon transformed into something bigger. IWOWD became a movement—a celebration of individuality. It wasn’t just about clothes. It was about creating an entire identity. From custom outfits to handbags, accessories, and even home decor, IWOWD helped women express who they were in every part of their lives.

Now, life has brought me full circle. Though IWOWD was born in the skies above the US, its heart has always been in India. India taught me to dream, England gave me the tools to chase it, and the US gave me the courage to live it. Today, I’m back where it all began, with IWOWD proudly saying, “Made in India for the world.”
